What can the North American market learn from Europe and China about machine electrification?

Alastair Hayfield attended this years iVT Expo in Chicago, here are his thoughts on the show.

The first time that the show has been held in Chicago and it has been a huge success with some key OEMs in attendance including: CNH, JCB, John Deere – all keen to learn more about latest off-highway technology.

It is clear that there is a growing interest in the US market for electrified solutions. There are several vendors at the show presenting automation and autonomous operation solutions with a very engaged audience.

After an introduction outlining growth in demand for labor and food with the growing global population, as well as the need for emission reduction, Alastair then went on to answer some questions surrounding the off-highway markets in his presentation. He went into detail about what is happening in both China and Europe and delving into conclusions as to what the US market can do to catch up.
